Founder & CEO
Nick Gammell worked with leaders at Google and YouTube building decision models, managing finances, and automating reporting. He served as a social media marketing consultant to Blurb and started his career at Deloitte Consulting. While at Deloitte, Nick first got the idea for GAIN when struggling to maintain his fitness level in the face of long hours and irregular gym access. Nick played college football at Carnegie Mellon, where he studied Business and Decision Science.

Co-founder - Design
Robert Bailey has 14 years of diverse experience in information architecture, interaction and visual design. Most notably, he led design for Picasa, which was acquired by Google in 2004. He went on to lead Picasa Web Albums design at Google for 4 years. Prior to that, he worked with design agencies and as a professional photographer. Come wintertime, you’ll find Robert shredding up the mountains on his snowboard.

Co-founder - Engineering
Dereck Rasmussen was a software engineer at Personal Shopper, where he worked on algorithms to simplify the online shopping experience. He applied his interest of fitness and nutrition to win a company-wide body fat percentage contest, where he dropped 6% in a remarkable 6 weeks. Dereck studied Computer Science at Boise State University in his home state of Idaho. Dereck's favorite exercise is the Jump Lunge.

Chief Technologist
David Hoffman has over 20 years experience creating, building and scaling software products and teams. Most recently, David was VP of Product Development at Posit Science, where he led software development of brain training programs. In the past, David has started 4 software companies, all of which were acquired by large companies. David is very passionate about delivering exceptional user experiences that can impact people's health and improve their daily lives in a profound way.

Lead iOS Developer
Patrick Barry has been developing iOS/Cocoa apps for more than 6 years. Previously a self-employed consultant, Patrick has built and launched more than a dozen different apps for iPhone and iPad, including health-related apps and a top Top 25 multimedia satellite app for NASA. Patrick's varied academic background includes coursework in Physics and Physiology, and prior to his career in software development he worked as a science journalist.

Partner Integration Lead
Sam Goldstein a modern renaissance man. A collegiate pole vaulter and former wrestler, Sam straddles the line between business development, technical wizardry and handstand aficionado. He studied Philosophy, Physics and Mathematics at Bates College, and, since starting as an Intern at GAIN in the Summer of 2012, has reduced partner integration time from six months down to one month.
